Mark was born at Banka Banka Station and later moved
to Warrabri where his grandfather taught him how to
make toys like soldiers, guns and snakes out of wood.
When still a young man Mark liked to draw local landscape
and animals.
|
| "I
started when I looked at my old grandfather doin
em at the old yard the old yard after school.
Had a big yard and saw him making the toy guns for
me. Sometime cars, he used to make em out
of wood. Because he had a big old yard full of wood.
He used to make em for me there for me and
I used to sit and watch him. And I would watch him
carefully." |
