"for number seven, we have to find em that
Mulga tree and look in the ground and find the shape of it and point
where that root is pointing and we gotta dig for it. Sometimes two
hours, sometimes three and a
half hours." |

The No. 7 (number seven) is a fighting boomerang, shaped
from the apex of the Snappy Gum, Mulga or Dogwood tree-trunk
and its roots. Its sharp tip is used for stabbing. The No.7
is produced with either a plain smooth surface, or a grooved/corrugated
finish, which is a "signature" of the craftsperson
and his clan.
Anyinginyi artists create other boomerang
styles as well.
