The most popular local artefacts produced at Anyinginyi Arts
are coolamons and Imbali, which are produced by both men and
women. Coolamons are traditionally made from the Bean Tree
as carriers for babies. Imbali, smaller with more pointed
ends are used for digging, carrying bush foods and separating
grass seeds from their husks. Imbali's are made from the heavier
woods of Snappy Gum and Mulga. Both artefacts are produced
in a natural wood, ochred, painted with traditional designs
or grooved with the craft person's "signature" pattern.
